Joyfully Turning 50

This week The Nana is joyfully turning 50. Okay maybe not so joyfully, there are down side to it. Like having to use reading glasses just to use her cell phone. One thing for sure is she is turning 50 with a bang. For the last 4 months I have been listening to her hinting on just how she wanted to celebrate her big birthday.

"All I want is a small birthday party with family and a few close friends." quoting The Nana.

Right a small party, I should have known that was not going to happen. As her daughter I got an overabundance of people interested in helping celebrate her big day. As I started planning two birthday celebrations I got an explosion right in the middle of my plans. My father, (with out telling the party planner) had gone and purchased a horse for her birthday.
Toby, The horse!

Yes, you read right a horse!

So I quickly reorganized one of the parties to include a horse being delivered and feeding the people who are helping plan this HUGE surprise. Than my father couldn't keep a secret and told her about the horse and the party. You see the horse has the exact name as my father and when he found that out. Well...he just couldn't hold in the jokes.

This past weekend we celebrated The Nana's first party at her brothers house. It brings a lot of joy to my heart that her family members gathered together for this huge day. A sister flew in from the Island. A brother, nieces & nephews drove two hours to come and join in the celebrations.  My Aunt and Uncle out did themselves with decorations and food. (Oh my Auntie has the best pepperoni and seafood lasagna recipe ever!) We ate, laughed and had a blast. The little ones played well together. (It great seeing little cousins together) I want to thank everyone of them for bring such joy to this day!

Now, to gear up for next weekends horse arrival birthday party!
